On Monday, Aug. 31, 2020 the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office filed a murder charge against Cordonte L. Walker for the Aug. 27, 2020 death of a woman in Kent.

Walker was charged with domestic violence first-degree murder and unlawful firearm possession.

Police say that early on Aug. 27, Officers responded to several 911 calls reporting gunfire, along with an altercation in the roadway where a woman was struck by a vehicle. At about 4 a.m., two Kent Police Officers located the suspect on foot in the area of 264th and 104th Ave SE and took him into custody without incident.

Charging documents say:

“After threatening and beating the victim with his fists, he killed her by intentionally running her over with his car. He then dragged her lifeless body to his car, unconcerned about the witness who had the defendant at gunpoint in an attempt to keep him from leaving the scene. The defendant then drove away, dumping the victim’s body behind a nearby business and leaving her there for the police to find.”

Walker’s arraignment, where he’s expected to enter a plea, is scheduled for Sept. 14 at the Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent.

Prosecutor’s asked that Mr. Walker be held on $2 million bail. A judge agreed.

This case is the 11th domestic violence homicide this year in King County.
