A 3-car head-on collision killed a man at Kent Black Diamond Road SE and 160th Ave SE (map below) Tuesday night, Aug. 4, 2020.

Police say that the victim was a male in his 50s, who died at the scene.

The at-fault driver has been arrested for DUI.

7 other occupants were transported to local hospitals, all in stable condition.

Police say that the tragic accident occurred around 7:10 p.m. Tuesday night.

A Ford Escape was southbound on Kent Black Diamond Rd SE near Kent, and a Toyota Tacoma was also southbound directly behind the Ford.

A black Ford F-350 was northbound on Kent Black Diamond Rd SE and in the 29500 BLK of Kent Black Diamond RD SE he crossed in to the oncoming lane where he collided head-on with the Ford Escape, then flipped onto its top and collided with the Toyota Tacoma.

A 52-year old male, the front passenger in the Ford Escape, died at the scene. Two additional occupants of the Ford Escape, and the 4 occupants of the Toyota Tacoma, were transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The suspect exhibited indications of impairment and was arrested at the scene. He is being treated at a hospital and, once released, will be booked into the King County Jail on Investigation of Vehicular Homicide.

“Our condolences to the family of the person tragically lost in this likely preventable crash,” police said.

King County Sheriff’s MARR detectives are investigating.
