Each year Kent city employees collect back-to-school supplies for high school students, and this year, employees donated more than $850 as well as 34 backpacks and boxes of notebooks, thumb drives, pens, pencils, highlighters, notepads, calculators and more.
Kent-Meridian High School will use the cash donation – which is matched by a generous supplier – to buy additional supplies for students as needed throughout the school year.
“I am proud that our staff not only works hard to serve our community every day, but they also support them with their own time and money,” Mayor Dana Ralph said. “Thank you!”
