On Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019, Kent Police announced that they made an arrest and are continuing to investigate a felony assault that occurred Thursday afternoon on the east hill of Kent.

Police say that Kent Officers responded to the area of 13200 block of SE 261st Street (map below) at 12:45 p.m. Thursday afternoon for the report of a suspicious circumstance – a male was walking down the street with blood on his hands and a female had been heard screaming from the house that the male had come from.

Kent Police were on the scene within moments and detained a 30-year old male. When they entered the male’s home in search of the female, they discovered her seriously injured, breathing, but unresponsive. Police, Fire personnel and Medics were able to stabilize and transport the 60-year old female victim to a nearby hospital.

The only previous contact that the Kent Police have had with the alleged suspect was involving a 2018 traffic collision.

“At this time we do not have any other details or information to release,” police said.

Kent Police Detectives will continue to work through the evidence that was collected in connection with the incident.
