The deadline to file for running for office in the August 6, 2019 primary election has passed, and here is the most recent list of candidates who have filed for office.
The top two vote-getters for each position will move on to the Nov. 5, 2019 General Election.
- Elected by Kent voters during odd-numbered years, Kent City Councilmembers serve four-year terms.
- They are non-partisan, meaning they do not represent political parties, and are elected at-large, meaning they do not represent a specific geographical area within the City of Kent.
- All Councilmembers receive a monthly salary, plus reimbursement for any expenses.
NOTE: Incumbent Dennis Higgins will not be seeking reelection.
