The City of Kent announced this week that it is offering utility bill assistance to federal employees during the government shutdown.

The city says it will waive any late fees on water, sewer and drainage utility bills for Kent residents affected by the closure.

“We will also suspend service interruptions for non-payment during the shutdown.”

To seek assistance, eligible Kent residents should contact Customer Service at the City of Kent at 253-856-5201 or [email protected].

Federal employees in need can also request assistance at the Customer Service counter in the Centennial Building (400 W. Gowe St.) during normal business hours.
