On Wednesday morning, Aug. 29, the Kent School District and the Kent Education Association (KEA) reached a tentative agreement.

“The agreement includes an important investment in the school district’s teaching staff,” the district said in a statement. “The bargaining process took longer this year, given the new and complex state funding formula for staff compensation.”

KEA will be holding a general membership meeting to vote on the tentative agreement today.

If approved by members, then school will start as scheduled tomorrow, Aug. 30, 2018.
