Late night travelers who use eastbound State Route 18 and both directions of State Route 167 in Auburn should plan for possible delays overnight this week.

Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews need to close several lanes and ramps of both highways for paving work.

The following will be closed from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. nightly:

  • Tuesday, June 19:
    • The eastbound SR 18 ramp to northbound SR 167
    • The southbound SR 167 ramp to eastbound SR 18
    • The State Route 181/West Valley Highway on-ramp to eastbound SR 18
  • Wednesday, June 20:
    • The eastbound SR 18 ramp to northbound SR 167
    • The 15th Street Southwest on-ramp to northbound SR 167
  • Thursday, June 21:
    • The right lane of northbound SR 167 between the Pierce County Line and Ellingson Road
    • The northbound SR 167 off-ramp to Ellingson Road

Signed detours will be in place. This work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled.

In the South King County area, drivers can get real-time traffic information on their phone with the WSDOT traffic app, tracking the WSDOT traffic Twitter feed, and get advanced information from the Seattle Area Construction Page.
