“I’ve long been a contemplator of this sometimes-crazy life we live and for over 10 years have been writing down my thoughts and observations. Initially figuring they would simply be a record left for my children, I shared them along the way; in Toastmasters, on Facebook, and with friends. It seemed my thoughts resonated with others and, so I decided to share them further. Not all my writings are observations of the outside world. Much of it them are my inner thoughts on the happenings of my own life. It’s been said I have a unique blend of wit, sarcasm, and an unusual simplicity in my writing. Some are short stories. Some a bit more poetic. And others I call Jeffisms; short thoughts. Collectively I’ll be happy if they are more than simple entertainment, but, rather, provocation for thought.”

I want to change, but I don’t want to change.

I want things to be different, but I want to keep doing the same things I’ve always done. I get up at the same time each day; last minute of course. I eat the same foods; quick and on the fly. I go through the same routines; stay up late, avoid watching TV and play on my phone.

I want to be healthier, to eat better, but I don’t look at getting different recipes or going to the store. So I eat fast food and foods I can microwave; all foods I know to not be good for me.

I want to be in better shape, but I don’t go to the gym or sign up for a gym.

Change is uncomfortable and requires change. I like to be comfortable and I don’t want to change. I don’t like the process of change. I want to stay the same and have change just happen. Can’t it after all?

Maybe I don’t really want to change.

To change, I’m going to have to change…and do things different today that I didn’t do yesterday.

Or I’ll just stay the same and talk about change.

  2. Really glad you’re doing this in this forum. I think it’s a perfect vehicle to share Just Jeff. And I love your graphics. I remember you showing me a few you were thinking of, but this one fits Just Jeff just right. Great first sharing we can ALL relate to.
