There was a four-alarm fire yesterday evening in SeaTac at an apartment complex in the 3600 block of S. 180 Street last evening. Luckily no residents were injured, but as many as 50 people have been displaced.
911 was called by those who saw smoke, then flames coming out of the roof. When the first Puget Sound Fire chief officer arrived on scene, he immediately added additional fire units to the incident by raising the call to a second, third, and eventually, a fourth alarm fire. By the time the fourth alarm was called, there were over 20 fire apparatus and 60 firefighters at the scene. It took several hours to fully contain the fire and over half of the apartments in the building were damaged.
Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents and has set up a shelter for them at the SeaTac Community Center.
