A pedestrian was fatally injured early Saturday in the 20800 block of 132nd Ave. SE.

The Kent Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding a pedestrian that was fatally wounded early Saturday morning, which occurred in the 20800 Block of 132nd Ave SE.

Kent Police responded to the area for a report of a single car accident. Upon arrival, contact was made with the driver involved in an accident when he drove off of the road. While on the scene, investigators discovered a deceased adult male in his 30s in the area. The male had injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle; however, further investigation revealed that the vehicle which ran off the road was determined to not be related. It was instead determined that the male was hit by a different car as he walked along the road. Traffic investigators determined this from the lack of evidence of the vehicle on scene.

During the course of the investigation, traffic investigators located the involved suspect vehicle abandoned in the area. They were able to link the debris located at the accident scene with the recovered vehicle. Upon making contact with witnesses associated to the vehicle, it was learned that the suspect fled the area in another vehicle and was said to possibly be traveling out of state.

Today investigators received information from Glendale Colorado Police Department indicating that the getaway vehicle and suspected 20-year-old female driver suspected to be involved in the fatality accident were located. She was taken into custody on an unrelated crime, and it is expected that she will be extradited back to Washington to face charges in this case.

Investigators intend to continue their investigation in an effort to confirm the sequence of events that led to this tragic incident.
