Kent embraces diversity

The data shows that diversity is part of the fiber of Kent, Washington, but it doesn’t tell the whole story. Diversity is important to our community, because it takes us back to our roots. Our city was originally settled in the late 1800s by people from all over the world. More than 125 years later, we continue to embrace people from different nations, to learn from them and to support them as they support us.

The Kent International Festival is a great example of diversity at work. This year the festival celebrated its 8th year, drawing thousands to Kent for a day of education, art, entertainment, cultural enrichment, international cuisine and more. To get a sense of who we are and how we embrace diversity, take a look at our photo gallery from the June 4 Kent International Festival. It was an amazing experience.

If you weren’t able to attend this year, please check it out next year. It will be held the first Saturday in June, 2017. We hope to see you there.
