The Kent Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred around 8:35 p.m. Friday night, July 5 at the Hawthorne Suites Motel, located at 6329 S. 212th Street (map below).

Officers arrived and located a male with a gunshot wound to his arm. After conducting an area search, a second male victim was found with life threatening injuries in the southwest corner of the parking lot. Lifesaving efforts were started on this subject. He was later transported to Harborview Medical Center with life threatening injuries by King County Medics. It is unclear if the subjects involved were guests at Hawthorne Suites.

Kent Police’s Detective Unit responded to the scene and are investigating the circumstances that resulted in this tragedy.

“The events leading up to the shooting at this time are still unknown, but it does not appear to be random act,” police said. “Detectives are continuing to speak with witnesses and collect evidence.”
