At a ‘Pop-Up Happy Hour’ held Monday night, Feb. 18, guests had a chance to mingle with the four finalist candidates for the CEO/Executive Director position at the Kent Chamber of Commerce.

One of these four will be chosen by the chamber’s Board of Directors over the next week, to replace Andrea Keikkala, who left the position last month.

We were there broadcasting a live Facebook video, which we’ve edited down to highlights from interviews with each candidate, listed in alphabetical order below:

ZENOVIA HARRIS

Zenovia Harris is a forward thinking/results driven leader with a proven track record of generating new and retaining clients at a high rate. Zenovia motivates employees and colleagues to deliver outstanding performance by embracing collaboration and inclusion. Lastly, Zenovia maintains and promotes positive attitudes in challenging situations with an exceptional sense of grace.

DAWN HONG

Dawn is originally from Charleston, WV. She spent 13 years in Washington D.C. She has a strong background in management, sales, operations, team building, and relationship building. Dawn’s career spans from being the CEO of her own boutique nanny service to fundraising for one of the country’s largest non-profit organizations. She has an eye for marketing and developing ways to increase visibility or sales and loves working with business owners. She also has a strong love of her community and understands the importance of giving back and supporting the community. Dawn lives in Maple Valley with her husband, Thomas and their two teenagers, Matthew and Zoe.

JULIE MARTIN

Julie Martin, an experienced Chamber CEO with a passion for promoting businesses and communities, is experienced with working with diverse groups of businesses, boards and municipalities. In her previous role, Julie achieved a 14% increase in membership. Julie’s training and personality help strengthen the Chamber’s role in the community.

QUEENA THOMAS

Passionate leader journeying to inspire others to uncover their story. Recognized for talents in providing corporate vision, leadership development, operational efficiency, and relationship building.
