Sound Transit will hold a public meeting in Kent on Mar. 20th (time TBD), to get feedback on where to place its proposed Operations and Maintenance Facility South.

As many of our Readers will recall, Sound Transit is seriously considering using eminent domain rights to demolish the brand new Dick’s Drive-In in Kent to build this new facility (read our previous coverage here).

“This is the most important opportunity to make your voice heard!” organizers said. “Please plan to attend this meeting if you can and tell Sound Transit to choose a site other than the Midway Shopping Center for their Operations and Maintenance Facility South.”

There will be a meeting in Federal Way as well in mid-March (date still TBD) at the Preforming Arts Center.

“Keep checking back for updates.”

  1. I guess I don’t understand..? How long has Sound Transit planned to run the line down to Federal Way ? How long did it take you to figure out that you might need a maintenance facility on the south end ? Duuhh..! When did you figure that out, December of 2018 ? Is this proposed facility part of your existing budget, or is it part of a “unfortunate cost overrun” ? How much more will this cost the over taxed paying public in license tab fees ? What other little surprises do you have hidden from us ? Poor planning on your part should not become a burden on the public.
