Puget Sound Fire on Monday, Oct. 1, officially welcomed Maple Valley Fire into their ranks.

October 1, 2018 is the first day of a contract for services between the two agencies.

Maple Valley Fire brings 40 firefighters, three fire stations, and several civilian staff to Puget Sound Fire.

It also adds over 50 square miles and about 2,600 annual emergency responses.

“The contract for services will allow us to continue to provide the same high level of services that our residents, businesses, and visitors have come to expect in all of our response area,” they said.

Puget Sound Fire provides fire and EMS protection for the cities of Kent, Covington, SeaTac – and now Maple Valley – as well as King County Fire District 37.
