The Washington State Patrol is seeking witnesses to a drive-by shooting that happened on Tuesday, June 19 in Covington.

Troopers say that at approximately 8:50 a.m. that morning, they received a 911 call from a driver stating that they were shot at on the offramp from eastbound SR 18 to S. 272nd Street / SR 516 in Covington (map below).

Troopers responded to the area, made contact with the victim, and were able to confirm that their vehicle was struck by a bullet.

The victim was interviewed and stated that the suspect vehicle was a black Toyota Highlander, most likely a 2005 to 2010 model year with tinted windows similar to the one pictured below.

He indicated that this vehicle also had aftermarket daytime running lights with a blue tint and that the Toyota emblem and the “Highlander” lettering on the rear hatch were black.

He also stated that the only occupant of the vehicle was a male driver and that he was unable to obtain a license plate.
