Kent Police are reporting that a woman’s body was found Saturday night, June 16, next to the trail in a wooded area near the 24600 block of 26th Place South in Kent (map below).

Police say that at approximately 7:42 p.m. Saturday, units responded to a welfare check on a trail in that area.

Upon arrival, an adult female victim was located next to the trail in the wooded area. The female was unconscious and unresponsive with labored breathing. Lifesaving efforts were attempted; however, the victim succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

There is limited information as this investigation is in its early stages. Detectives gathered information from witnesses and are collecting evidence from the scene, working to clarify the events that led to these suspicious circumstances.
