Wednesday night (Jan. 31) at around 9:55 p.m., Kent Police responded to a report of two people being shot and another person being struck by a vehicle on Kent’s East Hill.

Sadly, a 19-year old male who was shot was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are currently in the early stages of investigating this fatal shooting.

Officers responded to the area of 10800 and SE 240th Street (map below) and discovered a 19-year old male that had been shot in the upper torso, a 17-year old male that had also been shot, and another 17-year old male that had been struck by a vehicle.

Medics and police provided immediate lifesaving efforts; however, the 19-year old male succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two males were stabilized and transported to Harborview to be treated for their injuries.

According to preliminary information, a dispute had erupted and resulted with gunshots being fired striking the two males. In the chaotic moments that followed, the third male was struck by a leaving vehicle.

There is no suspect information to be released at this time. It is believed that this incident is specific to those involved and indications of “Gang” association are being taken into account.

Kent Police Detectives continue to gather information from witnesses and have collected evidence from the scene, working all the information that is obtained in connection with the incident to clarify the circumstances that led to this incident.
