United Way of King County is currently hiring for several AmeriCorps teams! We are seeking folks who are passionate about social justice issues, are fearless critical thinkers, and are excited to learn new skills to help make a difference in their community. AmeriCorps is a great entry point for folks looking to join the non-profit, social work, public health, or government sectors and will help train people in the skills they need to succeed.
We have three AmeriCorps positions currently open:
- Streets to Home AmeriCorps: Members leverage federal resources to take a client-lead approach to solve housing insecurity. Many people just need connection to a housing pathway, enrollment in a program, or a little financial assistance to make their housing goals a reality and our team helps navigate that system. Our current open position is in Federal Way.
- Benefits Hub: United Way Benefits Hub is a program that connects students with important resources to increase financial stability and ultimately support students to reach their college and career goals. As a Benefits Hub AmeriCorps member, you will become a resource navigation expert and take a client-lead approach to solve complex, community-wide challenges. Our current open positions are at Highline College in Des Moines.
- Free Tax: We know that many of our nation’s most powerful anti-poverty tools exist within the tax code, like the Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credits – but each year millions of dollars are left on the table due to the complexity of the tax code and the high cost of tax prep. The Free Tax Prep Campaign addresses this problem, and others, to promote financial stability in the King County community.
