#ReviveI5 project to cause additional delays

Weekend travelers, including approximately 65,000 Seattle Seahawks fans, need to plan ahead for traffic delays on northbound Interstate 5 starting Friday night, Sept. 29, to Monday morning, Oct. 2, says WSDOT. These are the second-to-last weekend-long lane reductions for #ReviveI5 this year. This work coincides with a Seahawks game at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, at CenturyLink Field.

Closure details

Contractor crews will reduce northbound I-5 to two lanes north of the I-5/I-405/State Road 518 interchange from 8 PM Friday, Sept. 29 to 5 AM Monday, Oct. 2. During the closure, crews will replace expansion joints on the left side of the Duwamish River Bridge.

Traffic delays

Drivers should expect traffic backups on northbound I-5, southbound I-405 and eastbound SR 518 throughout the weekend, but particularly on Sunday afternoon.

To reduce regional congestion, WSDOT needs help from drivers. It will be important to consider transportation alternatives and allow extra time to reach destinations.
