Kent Station is celebrating the summer and back-to-school season with its annual SOAKS (Summer’s Almost Over at Kent Station) event on Thurs., Aug. 17 from 5 to 8 PM. This is a fun, free family event with many fun activities, including vendor booths, the August Adventure Run and the completion of the Fill the Bus campaign done to support Communities in Schools Kent.

  • Kent News: Kent Police Arrest 2 Males After Threatening a School Bus DriverFamily-friendly vendor booths with cool activities and giveaways. Look for ShoWare, TBirds, Kent Police Dept., Kent Fire Dept., Z-Ultimate, iLoveKent, Republic Services and more!
  • Raffle prizes and giveaways
  • Redhook Beer Garden (must be 21+ and have valid ID)
  • Fill the Bus: bring school supplies to donate to Kent students in need in CISK’s 5th Annual School Supply Drive. Cash donations will also be accepted on site. Here’s a list of needed items.

Here’s the evening schedule, including check-in times, etc. for the Adventure Run:

  • 5 to 7 PM: Activity booths for everyone
  • 5 PM: Register at Road Runner Sports for the Adventure Run
  • 5 to 6:30 PM: Visit Vendor Village in the Plaza (booths are open until 7 PM)
  • 6:30 – 7:30 PM: Hit as many checkpoints as you can
  • 7 PM: Redbook Beer Garden opens
  • 7:45 PM: Raffle prizes in the Plaza

The event is done in partnership with the City of Kent, Kent4Health and Communities in Schools Kent.

This is the first year iLoveKent will be participating, and we are so excited. Stop by our booth and help us create a wall with reasons we love Kent! We’ll have fun giveaways, so make sure you come by.
