Firefighters Respond to Fatal Fire in Auburn

Firefighters responded this morning to a fatal fire in Auburn, finding a deceased adult male at the scene.

The body of a deceased adult male was found this morning while firefighters from Fire District 44 and Enumclaw worked to extinguish a fire in the 18200 block of SE 396 Street.

The first calls to 911 came in at 11:00 am, and reported heavy smoke coming from a single-story house and the garage.

While fighting the fire and searching the building, the first responders found the victim. No one else was found in the home.

A King County Fire investigator is currently working to determine the cause.

The identity and cause of death of the victim will be released by the King County Medical Examiner’s office.
