Little is known about the shooting, and there are no suspects at this time.

On Tuesday, April 18, 2017 just after midnight, Kent Police officers were dispatched to the area of 64th Avenue South and West Meeker Street to follow-up on the report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found two males had been shot.

One male, 17, was deceased upon the officers’ arrival and the other, 16, was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening gunshot injuries. Both males were Kent residents.

The events that led to the shooting are not known at this time. The police do not have any suspects. Detectives responded and processed the scene for evidence and interviewed potential witnesses and the victim.
