Kent School District Shows How It Uses Technology for Learning

Students in the Kent School District use technology to learn new skills every day to prepare for the future. Teachers and students will display some of that technology at the district’s annual Tech Expo, scheduled for Thursday, January 19, 2017 (6 to 8:30 PM) at ShoWare Center.

This year’s theme is Inspiring Globally Competitive Learners. More than 800 students and 130 teachers will showcase technology used in Kent schools, along with two dozen local technology businesses.

At last year’s event, more than 4,200 participants attended the Tech Expo to learn more about the role technology plays in education from more than 800 students and 154 teachers in 102 booths. Here is a recap from Tech Expo 2016.

This year’s Tech Expo will showcase how students develop college and career skills through classroom projects using tech tools. At the event, students and teachers will…

  • Demonstrate technology in use
  • Speak about what they’ve learned
  • Ask attendees to get involved

Event participants will have the chance to try Kent School District technology to solve problems, complete tasks and build devices with student presents. In addition, the event will highlight local businesses and organizations that support the use of technology in education, and sponsors and exhibitors will help demonstrate the connection between classrooms and careers.
