Remove invasive weeds, plant trees and shrubs, and spread mulch in Kent parks

The City of Kent needs volunteers to help with fall weed removal, planting and mulch spreading in Kent parks, including National Public Lands Day on Saturday, Sept. 24. It is an opportunity to get outside, help maintain our city parks, earn community service hours and give back to the community. Volunteer opportunities include:

Sat., Sept. 17 Green Kent Weed Removal Work Party Springwood Park (12700 SE 274th St.)
Sat., Sept. 24 National Public Lands Day Riverview Park (Hawley Rd. & S. 255th St.)
Sat., Oct. 1 Planting Party at the Park Morrill Meadows Park (10600 SE 248th St.)
Sun., Oct. 2 Planting Work Party North Meridian Park (22828 120th Ave. SE)
Sat., Oct. 8 15th Annual “ReLeaf” Event Clark Lake Park (12700 SE 248th St.)
Sat., Oct. 15 Green Kent Planting Party Lake Fenwick Park (25828 Lake Fenwick Rd.)
Sun., Oct. 16 Planting the Park Work Party Park Orchard Park (11058 SE 230th St.)
Sat., Oct. 22 5th Annual Green Kent Day Morrill Meadows Park (10600 SE 248th St.)

Events are held Saturday and Sunday mornings from 9 AM to noon, rain or shine. The city will provide tools, training and staff supervision.
