Kent Cornucopia Days are almost here!

If you are ready for summer fun, you’re in luck! Kent Cornucopia Days, South King County’s largest family festival, is just around the corner – July 8, 9 and 10, 2016. The nationally-recognized, award-winning festival is a community service project from the Kent Lions Club, and is completely run by volunteers. The festival provides many fun things to do with kids. Make sure it is on your “must do” list this July.

Street Fair, Food Court, Entertainment & More

As in years past, there will be a street fair with a large variety of vendors selling their handcrafted goods, food vendors, and commercial vendors selling their products, services and other wares. Check out the Main Food Court by the Kent Library, which offers a “cornucopia” of ethnic foods, and the new East Food Court, surrounding the Gazebo in Burlington Green Park and a beer garden next to the Gazebo Park Food Court. Entertainment for the 2016 summer festival has already been lined up. Visit the Kent Cornucopia Days website for the full entertainment line-up.

Favorite events will also return including the Kent Cornucopia Days 5K Fun Run, Dragon Boat Races at Lake Meridian, the Kent Youth Soccer Association Cornucopia Cup and the Grand Parade on Sunday, July 10 from 2 to 3 p.m.

Kent Cornucopia Days 5K Fun Run

The Fun Run will take place on Saturday, July 9, 2016. This is a 5K Run/Walk that features a smooth, flat course along the Green River in the north end of the Kent Valley. Proceeds from the Fun Run will go toward recreation programs produced by the Kent Parks Department. The race for 2016 will start and stop at Three Friends Fishing Hole, located at 20025 Russell Road. Race day registration will take place at 7:30 a.m., and the race will begin at 9:00 a.m. For more information on registration, please visit the Fun Run’s website.

This event is one of Kent’s premier events, so consider attending and bring your family and friends. It is well worth it!
