Kent Spotlight Series: Antics “Sneaker Suites

Antics is a Los Angeles-based hip-hop dance theater company that creates multimedia urban dance performances. “Sneaker Suites” utilizes the expressiveness and virtuosity of street dance, as well as provocative poetry to tell the stories of sneakers: of those who make them, those who wear them, and those who dance in them. Partial Funding from WESTAF, National Endowment for the Arts, and Washington State Arts Commission

Antics is committed to participating in community education through exciting and engaging residencies, workshops, and lecture/demonstrations. The company will teach a street dance styles workshop on Thursday, February 4 from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. at Allegro Performing Arts Academy, 222 Central Avenue South, Kent. The workshop will include popping, bboying/bgirling (breakdancing), and hip hop choreography. All ages and all abilities are welcome, from complete beginner to experienced performer. A $15 on-site registration fee includes one complimentary ticket to the public performance on February 5. (Pre-registration is not necessary.)
