If you haven’t already heard, Kent has been chosen as the site for 2012 Skate America, an international skating competition to be held at ShoWare Center Oct. 19-21.

The city is expecting as many as 15,000 skating fans, athletes and trainers during the weekend. The event will be broadcast nationally on NBC with additional coverage in Canada, Japan, Korea, Russia and other countries.
