The Kent Predators played their first home game last night at the Showare Center. The Indoor Football League welcomed the Predators this year with much support from the Kent community. The IFL is different than NFL; a few rules vary, the field is smaller and the action is much more in your face. If you are lucky enough to sit in the first row you will have a great chance of touching Eric Taylor, wide receiver, as he runs past or KJ McCrae tackles another player up against the wall. If you are seated in the back, footballs fly your way after kicker, Justin Miller kicks off the ball and that ball become a great souvenir. You feel as if you are part of the game.
Although defeated, the Predators played a good game with a lot of action. They played the now 3-0 Fairbanks Grizzlies. The first half started out rough but they came back with a vengeance. Unfortunately it was not enough, with a score of 57-42 the Predators fell short. The Predators are currently 0-3 but with a few games behind them the chemistry is heating up and we see many great games ahead.
