The 5th annual First Avenue Block Party is set for Friday, September 11 from 4 to 9 p.m. In honor the celebration, First Avenue South will be blocked off between Gowe and Titus Streets, and the block will be filled with music, art, food and fun. Highlights include:

- Live music performances from local bands including Gray Sky Falling
- A beer garden at Vibe
- Gyros and wine from Spiro’s Greek Isle
- Bratwurts and German potato salad at Bittersweet
- Anniversary sale at Cypriana
- Salon Ivoni “meet and greet”
- Art Sale:  Meet the artists including metal artist Greg Bartol
